Why do modern taps fail?
Modern taps use ceramic discs instead of washers which on the whole are a much better design than using rubber washers but they aren’t without issues, specifically you live in a hard water area as lime scale can build up overt time stopping the discs from closing properly. The tricky part is finding the correct discs for your tap as there are 100s of different variants, as a general rule the higher quality of the tap the better the quality of the discs.
